Agartala. A man allegedly brutally murdered his wife in Tripura’s West district. He cut his wife into two pieces. Police said the killer, identified as Khayyum Miya, was arrested on Friday. He has confessed to the crime. The deceased was a minor.
Heinous murder of wife in Tripura – Dead body in bag
Bapan Miya, the younger brother of the deceased Tajuja told that those people are residents of Arlia. His sister Tajuja Begum was married to daily wage laborer Khayyum Miya about eight months ago.
On Friday (April 28) morning, Tajuja’s mother came to know that her daughter was missing. After getting the information, she along with Bapan reached Tajuja’s house in Muslimpada area, and saw blood stains there. No one was found in the house. Seeing this, the mother started crying, then the local people reached home and informed the police about Tajuja’s disappearance.
Tripura murder case: Body in bag thrown into forest
A police team led by SDPO Ashish Dasgupta went there and started searching for Khayyum Miya. They caught Khayyum Miya in Batala area on Friday. West district SP Ramesh Yadav said, “During interrogation, Khayyum Miya revealed that he killed Tajuja on Thursday (April 27) night and stuffed her body parts in two bags and dumped them in a swamp in the forest.”
According to the SP, both the bags have been recovered from the forest. The head was kept in a small bag while the body was kept in a bigger size bag.
The SP said, “The accused was arrested four hours after the crime was reported to the police. We are interrogating the killer to know the motive of the crime. The police are also looking into whether any third person was involved in the crime.” is included.”
Khayyum Miya had initially tried to mislead the police by giving false information. However, after many attempts, he accepted his crime. Police has sent the body to GB Pant Hospital for postmortem.
