Youth can be a victim of depression
French fries especially fried potatoes are very popular among youth as fast food. Despite being unhealthy, it is eaten a lot. The results of recent research are shocking. This research done in China has been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS). It has been found that frequent consumption of fried food items, especially fried potatoes, significantly increases the risk of depression and anxiety.

It was found in the research that people who were continuously consuming fried food, anxiety issues were found 12 percent more than those who did not eat fried food. At the same time, depression was also found to be 7 percent more. This link was seen more clearly among young consumers.
Research done in 11 years
According to experts, the research is in its early stages, but it is clear that fried foods can affect mental health. During the study, 140, 728 people were included and it was done for 11 years and 3 months. After removing participants diagnosed with depression after the initial two years of the study, a total of 8,294 cases of anxiety and 12,735 cases of depression were found. It was also found in the study that participants who regularly had more than one serving of fried food were found to be young, especially young men.
