The Indian stock market saw a boom on the last trading day of the week i.e. Friday (April 28). The Sensex closed at 61,112 with a gain of 463 points. The Nifty also saw a gain of 137 points, closing at 18,052. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 22 gained and 8 declined.
Wipro and Tech Mahindra gain after the result
After the fourth quarter results, there was a rise in the shares of Wipro and Tech Mahindra today. Wipro’s stock closed at 384.70 with a gain of 2.75% i.e. Rs 10.30. On the other hand, the share of Tech Mahindra closed at the level of 1,022.20 with a gain of 1.90% i.e. Rs 19.05.
Both the companies announced their fourth quarter results a day earlier on Thursday. Wipro’s net profit for the quarter declined 0.4% YoY to Rs 3,075 crore. On the other hand, Tech Mahindra’s profit YoY decreased by 26% to Rs 1,118 crore. Read the full news related to the result…
All 10 stocks of Adani Group rose
Today all 10 stocks of Adani Group gained momentum. Shares of the group’s flagship company Adani Enterprises rose 3.72%. Adani Transmission and Adani Power saw a gain of 5-5% each. Adani Ports, Wilmar, Total Gas, Green Energy, Ambuja Cement, ACC and NDTV also gained momentum.
40 stocks of Nifty-50 gained momentum
Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Nestle India, Wipro, Britannia, ITC, HDFC Life, LT and Apollo Hospitals among 40 Nifty-50 stocks advanced. On the other hand, 10 Nifty stocks including Axis Bank, Titan, ONGC, JSW Steel, Cipla, Hindustan Unilever, Bajaj Finserv and Asian Paints saw a decline.
PSU bank sector gained 2.45%
All the 11 sectoral indices of the NSE gained momentum. The PSU bank sector gained the most by 2.45%. IT and media sector saw a gain of more than 1%. Bank, Auto, Financial Services, FMCG, Metal, Pharma, Private Bank and Realty sectors also gained momentum.
Sensex had climbed 348 points on Thursday
There was an increase in the stock market on Thursday. The Sensex climbed 348 points to close at 60,649. The Nifty gained 101 points and closed at 17,915. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 23 gained and only 7 declined.
FII and DII both net buyers
Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) and Domestic Institutional Investors (DII) both turned net buyers in the April 27 trade. FIIs bought Rs 1,652.95 crore as per the data available on NSE. While DII bought shares worth only 97.07 crore.
Dow Jones closed up 524 points
The American market saw a great boom on Thursday. The Dow Jones gained 524 points and closed at 33,826.16. The S&P 500 index also gained 79 points and closed at 4,135.35.
