It is not a new thing to come across strange statements of Maulanas in the name of religion. Sometimes it is said that girls should not come to public places wearing tight clothes and sometimes it is said that they should not wear make up. In this sequence, the statement of Maulana Sajjad Nomani of All India Personal Law Board is viral. Inciting the Muslims, he has said that girls should not be sent to school/college alone during Ramzan as doing so is haram.
The video going viral on social media is allegedly of a meeting held in this Ramzan. In this, he provokes the parents and says – do not send your girls to school-college alone even after wearing hijab. This is haram haram. He says, “I curse those people who send their girls alone to coaching centers or colleges on the night of Pak Ramzan. Allah will send them to hell.
In the viral video, he can be heard provoking the parents of Muslim girls. He asks, do they (mother and father of the girls) know whether their daughter goes to school-college and attends periods or not. Or comes to college and secretly goes somewhere. Maulana says,
“If you are the father. If you are a Muslim Rather, if you are a decent person and born from the status of Halal father… what can I say more harshly than this… then it is haram that you should be careless like your daughters.
According to him, whoever sends his daughters to schools and colleges alone, he should be destined for hell. According to Nomani, it is not enough that someone’s daughter is going to school or college wearing a hijab, it is the duty of parents not to let her go alone. According to Maulana, if you want to send your daughters to college, then meet the principal and request that he should be told whether his daughter has taken all the classes or scored a goal.
It is being said that after this statement of Nomani, only Islamic intellectuals have become angry with him. Javed Anand, Convener of Indian Muslim for Secular Democracy, asks whether in this statement it is not being said indirectly that Muslim girls should be kept away from education.
Please tell that this is not the first time that Sajjad Nomani has questioned the freedom of girls in this way. He had also opposed giving mobiles to college going girls. He had told his supporters that nowadays Hindu boys trap Muslim girls by learning Urdu language. 5000 girls got married in non-religion like this.
Salute was sent to Taliban
Apart from this, in the year 2021, when the Taliban had captured Afghanistan, Sajjad Nomani had welcomed it in India. Saluting the courage of Taliban, Maulana Sajjad Nomani had said that Taliban has defeated the strongest army in the world. The AIMPLB spokesperson said, “Once again this date has been tallied. An unarmed nation has defeated the mightiest of armies. They managed to enter the palace of Kabul. The whole world saw the style of his admission. There was no pride or arrogance in him.
Maulana Sajjad Nomani while praising the Taliban further said, “They did not have any big words. These youths are kissing the soil of Kabul. Congratulations. This Hindi Muslim sitting far away salutes you. Salutes your courage. Salute your spirit. Many people have also been killed in the violence after the Taliban occupation and in the stampede during the escape.
