People wasting time in traffic jam for hours
The number of vehicles in Pune city is increasing so much that the traffic jam is increasing day by day. People are losing their time in traffic jam for hours. This report includes three cities of India, which are facing the problem of severe traffic jams.
27 minutes to cover 10 kms
In this list, Bangalore is the second most traffic-congested country in the world, while Pune is at the sixth position and the country’s capital Delhi is at the 17th position. Tom Tom company has derived the conclusion from the time taken to cover a distance of 10 kms. Whereas, it takes 27 minutes to cover a distance of 10 kilometers in Pune. Pune has 753 vehicles per 1,000 people, which is rapidly increasing traffic jams on the city’s roads. Apart from this, the system of public transport in Pune is not that good.
In view of the problem of jam, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has planned an outer road to reduce the traffic from the city. According to the PMRDA, the proposed 129 km long ring road passing through the outskirts of Pune will help heavy vehicles move from outside the city. While the roads inside the city can be used for mass transportation.
