A normal family lived in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana. The head of the family used to sell sweets and kulfi at Rohtak Chowk. On 01 December 1989, a son was born at his house. Struggling father Ashok Swami named his son Saurabh Swami.. Saurabh was very smart in studies since childhood and on the basis of his hard work and ability, he pulled his family out of the tag of poverty.
Born in a normal family of Haryana, the story of Saurabh Swami is very inspiring. No one had any idea that the son of a sweet seller would one day join the country’s highest service. He not only fulfilled his father’s dream, but also brought laurels to the entire family.
Saurabh Swami studied till 12th standard from APJ School located in Charkhi Dadri. Then he came to Delhi. After completing his B.Tech in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Bharatiya Vidyapeeth here, he got a job in Bangalore. He passed the UPSC Prelims exam with a private job, after some time he was told to rest for three months due to a slip and fall.
Saurabh Swami prepared for UPSC exam in these three months. For this he had gone to Delhi. There, through coaching and self-study, he passed the UPSC Mains exam in his first attempt in 2014, in which he got 149th rank, then after getting training in LBSNAA Mussoorie, he became an IAS officer in 2015.
Saurabh Swami is an IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre. Currently posted as District Collector in Sriganganagar, he married RJS Anubhuti Swami of Rajasthan in 2017. Saurabh Swami’s mother Pushpa Swami did B.Ed. Whereas Saurabh’s father Ashok Swami is eighth pass. Saurabh is the only brother of two sisters. His father wanted Saurabh to do something big in life. He fulfilled his father’s dream by becoming an IAS officer.
