PM Modi on Kashi Telugu Sangamam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described Kashi Telugu Sangamam as the confluence of the holy rivers Ganga and Godavari of North and South India. PM Modi said this while welcoming the Telugu speaking people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Saturday (April 29). He was addressing the Kashi Telugu Sangamam program organized in Varanasi online.
PM Modi said, “Best wishes to all of you for the Ganga Pushkar Alu Utsav. You all have come to Kashi, so in this visit, you are also my personal guest. As they say here, guests are like gods. Due to responsibilities, even though I could not be present there to welcome you, I feel that I am in your midst.
PM Modi further said this
The PM said, “This Ganga Pushkar Alu Utsav on the Ghats of Kashi is like the confluence of Ganga and Godavari. It is a celebration of the confluence of India’s ancient civilizations, cultures and traditions.” He said, “You will remember that Kashi Tamil Sangamam was also organized a few months ago here on the land of Kashi. Just a few days ago, I had the privilege of attending the Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam. Then I had said that this amrit kaal of freedom is the confluence of diversities of the country, different currents. The nectar of nationalism is coming out of the confluence of diversities which will keep India energetic till the infinite future.

Sri Kashi Telugu Committee is organizing
Earlier in a press conference, BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao had said that ‘Sri Kashi Telugu Samiti’, an organization of ashrams and dharamshalas associated with Telugu people, is organizing the Sangamam. Rao is also the coordinator of this program and the president of the Sri Kasi Telugu Committee.

The one-day event, organized at the Mansarovar Ghat on the river Ganges, will highlight the ancient civilizational ties between Varanasi and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, two states with Telugu-speaking populations. Various cultural and religious programs will also be organized during this.
This exercise is also being seen as part of Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to strengthen the ruling BJP’s roots in the southern states. Varanasi also hosted the Kashi Tamil Sangamam which lasted for a month.
