PM Modi launches 91 FM stations to connect 18 states and 2 union territories with radio connectivity
The Fact India: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated 91 FM radio stations of 100 watt capacity to connect 84 districts of 18 states and two union territories of the country through radio. Along with this, radio connectivity will get a boost in the country. The inauguration was done by PM Modi through video conferencing. During the inauguration, PM Modi described himself as both the listener and the host of the radio.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur, who was present in Leh, told that a record has been set for setting up the world’s highest transmitter in Nyoma village of Ladakh. Nyoma is at an altitude of 4100. The benefit of radio is going to be available for many kilometers from here. Apart from Nyoma, radio stations have also started in Khaltse, Diskit in Ladakh.
At the inauguration, PM Modi said that the expansion of FM service of All India Radio is an important step towards becoming All India FM. This launch of 91 FM transmission of All India Radio is like a gift for 2 crore people of 85 districts of the country. He said that Digital India has given radio new ideas and new listeners. The tech revolution in the country has given a new avatar to radio and FM. Due to the internet, radio has not lagged behind but has come forward in innovative ways through online FM and podcasts.
He said that after a few days I am going to do the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat on radio. This experience of Mann Ki Baat, this kind of emotional connection with the countrymen was possible only through radio. Through this, I remained connected to the strength and collective duty of the countrymen.
As per information 91 FM radio stations in Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Ladakh besides Started in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A total of 84 districts have been covered in these states.
