Pakistan: According to a paper published in the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports, a wonderful baby has been born in Pakistan which is being talked about a lot. The child was born with two penises and without an anus. This is a rare phenomenon known as diphallia. One such child is born in 6 million in this medical event. This amazing baby has been born in Islamabad. After the baby is born, doctors have told that the baby will be able to pass stool through an opening made through a colonoscopy.
Two penises of a child, urinated from both
According to the journal, penises are of ‘normal shape’ at birth, but this amazing baby has two penises that are one centimeter longer than the other. According to the scans, the child urinated with both sexes as he had a single bladder connected to two urethras. Surgeons at the Children’s Hospital of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences said that no surgery to remove the extra penis has been performed so far, without giving a reason.
Doctors call it a unique phenomenon in medical history, as such a case was first recorded in the year 1609. Doctors said the baby, born after 36 weeks, was reportedly discharged after two days. The child has no family history of birth defects.
Can be treated with surgery
Doctors told that there is no specific reason which results in diphallia. Doctors told that it develops when the genitals are formed in the womb. Complete and partial diphallia occur when both penises are either well developed or when one is shortened or malformed, respectively. In the latest reported case, one penis measured 1.5cm, while the other was 2.5cm.
In cases of partial diphallia, one penis is surgically removed, while full diphallia can be treated according to the patient’s discomfort. According to doctors, 1 percent of diphallia patients also face problems with their rectum.
