Ministry of AYUSH is leading a topic group on Traditional Medicine as part of the Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence for Health. The Ministry of AYUSH is ensuring benchmarking of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in traditional medicine.
On the second day of the 2nd Health Working Group meeting under the chairmanship of India at G-20, an important brainstorming session took place on Citizen Centric Health Delivery Ecosystem for Universal Health Coverage by leveraging digital health and innovation. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, while delivering the inaugural address at a side event, with the guidance and support of United Nations bodies, through comprehensive IT backbone for traditional medicine AYUSH Grid and ensuring benchmarking of AI in traditional medicine, an integrated system of service delivery Emphasis on holistic healthcare model.
Vaidya Kotecha said that there is a need to advocate the use of digital tools not only for the efficiency and outcomes of the healthcare system, but also for maintaining medical records, sharing information and evaluating the effectiveness of different types of healthcare Also need to do. He said that one of the tasks of WHO’s upcoming Global Center for Traditional Medicine in India is to work on data analysis and technology in traditional medicine. Secretary Kotecha also participated in a panel discussion on Building a Digital Health Ecosystem on the topic “Moving towards a Harmonious and Efficient Health-Data Governance Framework”. He talked about this important aspect of digital health that is growing and the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare, including traditional medicine, is becoming ubiquitous.
Kotecha said that there is a need to keep pace with the development of benchmarks, guidelines and policies for their safe, effective use in healthcare. To ensure benchmarking of AI in traditional medicine and guidance and support from UN bodies such as the World Health Organization and the International Telecommunication Union, the Ministry of AYUSH is leading a focus group on traditional medicine called the Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence for Health (FG-AI4H) is part of.
