Action against musclemen is going on in Uttar Pradesh. An order has been issued to attach the property worth Rs 50 lakh of Anand Yadav, a close aide of jailed gangster Mukhtar Ansari. At the same time, preparations have been made to bring his shooter Angad Rai from Bhabua in Bihar to Ghazipur. Recently, he was arrested by Bihar Police with liquor.
Mukhtar is in jail along with his family members. His wife Afsan Ansari is absconding. Like Atiq’s wife Shaista Parveen, the police have also announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on Afsan. Police is also conducting search operations at various places to nab it, but so far no success has been achieved. At the same time, the noose is tightening on Angad Rai.
There was a time that not only the general public, even the leaders and officers did not speak due to the fear of Mukhtar. From his home district Mau to Purvanchal, whatever he wanted used to happen. Talking to OpIndia about this, Mau DSP Dhananjay Mishra says that apart from being a leader of a community, he has no other merit. There are 5 dozen cases registered against him.
Mukhtar Ansari had become so confident, he did not feel any fear even while occupying the land of Hindu religious places. He captured 4.60 acres of land of 125 years old Hindu shrine at Dakshin Tola under Sadar Tehsil in Mau. In this regard, social worker Chhote Lal Gandhi had given a complaint in the police station in the year 2016.
In the copy of the complaint available with OpIndia, it has been said that Mukhtar, in connivance with the revenue employees, prepared fake documents of the land and took possession of the land by getting a deed of his own. It has also been said in the complaint that along with getting the deed, he gathered the criminals in the area and took possession of the God’s land by installing JCB machine.
However, even then Chhote Lal Gandhi stood against Mukhtar Ansari and is fighting that battle even today. Speaking to OpIndia, Gandhi said, “The then MLA Mukhtar Ansari laid the foundation stone of Ansari University in 2016 with 50,000 people. Adjacent to this, he also started encroaching on Thakur ji’s (God’s) land worth about Rs 15 crores.
Gandhi further says, “When I came to know about this, I wrote a letter to all the officials in this regard. When no action was taken, in May 2016, I staged a dharna continuously for seven days. After this, the District Magistrate came to know about the matter, then he brought other officials and said that in seven days all the land will be returned to Thakurji’s name.
Recalling the incident of political patronage on Mukhtar, Gandhi further says, “At that time there was a Samajwadi Party government in the state and Mukhtar was a SP MLA. No DM or officer had the capacity to conduct an inquiry against Mukhtar Ansari. Not checked. In the year 2019, Mukhtar’s special henchman Ganesh Dutt Mishra fraudulently got the land registered in his name.
Gandhi says that with the help of Ganesh Dutt Mishra Mukhtar, he used to capture huge lands and sell them by plotting them. In the year 2019, he also got Thakur ji’s land in his name along with the revenue officials and then started plotting and selling it. Gandhi says that as soon as he came to know about it, he immediately informed the DM about it. After this FIR was registered against 60 people including Mishra.
Chhote Lal Gandhi further said, “Within two months SDM Nirankar Singh canceled the names of all the people from that land and named that land after Thakur ji and made Mau collectorate its manager. Mukhtar’s men are still many in Mau. Even after the eviction, that land has not been vacated till date. He said that now the officers are afraid of Mukhtar that if the government changes, it will become difficult.
Chhote Lal Gandhi also told that he had recently met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and applied for action on Mukhtar Ansari’s property worth about Rs 8 billion. When asked that when the officers are afraid of Mukhtar, then you are not afraid, on this Chhote Lal says that they do this work only to die. He has no fear of Mukhtar-Ukhtar.
