Kashmiri citizen called for questioning in Poonch terror attack commits suicide
The Fact India: A Kashmiri national was called for questioning in connection with the attack on an army truck in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch. After this he committed suicide. After this the atmosphere of the valley has deteriorated. After this incident, the people of Kashmir are protesting. In this case, the police say that he committed suicide due to a domestic dispute. Five soldiers of the Rashtriya Rifles were martyred in the terrorist attack on the army truck in Poonch. Kashmir Police as well as Indian security forces are probing the attack.
According to the information received, Mukhtar Hussain Shah, a resident of Nar village of Mendhar tehsil of Poonch, was called by the security forces for questioning. Mukhtar Hussain allegedly consumed poison on Tuesday evening after he was called by the police. He died during treatment on Thursday. After which the local people are protesting. A Jammu and Kashmir official said that 35-year-old Mukhtar Hussain Shah was called for questioning in the Poonch terror attack case. He allegedly consumed poison. When his condition deteriorated after consuming poison, he was admitted to the Government Medical College, Rajouri, where he died on Thursday morning, the official said.
The investigating team official said that he was not a suspect in the terror attack case. Like most of the residents of the village, he too was called in for questioning. He is a resident of near the spot. The officer also said that we came to know that he was facing domestic issues and was upset. However, the local people say that he committed suicide fearing the questioning of the police.
It is known that security forces have detained more than 60 people for the investigation of Poonch terror attack. These people are being questioned. Army’s Northern Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi said ongoing search operation is underway for security in the area and to nab the terrorists.
