The historic 16th edition of IPL (Indian Premier League) continues. This league was started in the year 2008. The 42nd match of IPL 2023 which will be played between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals is the 1000th match in the history of this league. Special preparations have started for this special match. This match will be played at Wankhede, Mumbai’s most popular stadium in India. Compared to the current position, the Rajasthan team looks strong, but the Mumbai team has given everyone a tough competition so far. This high voltage match will be played on Sunday, 30 April from 7.30 pm.
Prior to this match, Rajasthan Royals have played eight matches and after five wins, the team is second in the points table. On the other hand, the team of Mumbai Indians, playing seven matches, has won three and lost four. Rajasthan’s team came after winning the last match against CSK, while Mumbai had to face defeat against Gujarat Titans. Both these teams are one of the oldest teams in IPL history. When the league started in the year 2008, the Rajasthan team became the champion. While Mumbai Indians have won the IPL title in the years 2013, 15, 17, 19 and 20.

How is the head to head record?
A total of 29 matches have been played between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals earlier in IPL history. Out of which Mumbai has won 15 matches and Rajasthan has won 13 times. For the first time, there was a battle between the two teams in 2008 where Mumbai Indians defeated Rajasthan Royals. Till 2013, there was a close fight between the two teams and both had registered 6-6 wins. After this Mumbai’s magical period started but Rajasthan have won 9 out of 17 matches against the five-time champion team since then. This will be the first encounter between the two teams this season.

How was the golden journey of IPL?
When IPL started in the year 2008, nobody had much idea of T20 cricket. In the year 2007 itself, the first World Cup was played on the September-October side. IPL started after 6 months. After that season, this cricket league started booming all over the world. The first season was won by Rajasthan Royals, after which the teams of Deccan Chargers, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans won the trophy at least once for 15 years. Mumbai became champion five times and Chennai four times. KKR won the trophy of this league twice. Apart from this, Sunrisers, Deccan, Rajasthan and Gujarat have won the title once each. Rajasthan is the first winner of this league and Mumbai is the most successful team. Now the historic 1000th match of this league is to be played between these two teams.
