Indian Meteorological Department: The Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its daily bulletin on Sunday that there may be rain and thundershowers in many parts of the country in the next five days. Light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds is expected in central India for the next five days.
At the same time, there is a possibility of hailstorm in many parts of West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh. According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh. There is a possibility of heavy rains with thunder, lightning and strong winds in the plains of North West India.
There is a possibility of light to moderate or heavy rain with snowfall, thunder, lightning and strong winds in the Western Himalayan region. There is a possibility of hailstorm in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan.
Heavy rains in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh
Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains with thunder, lightning and strong winds for the next five days in South India. There is a possibility of heavy rains at different places in Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu on 1 May and in Kerala on 30 April.
Heavy rains are expected in many parts of Rayalaseema, Karnataka and Coastal Andhra Pradesh from April 30 to May 2. There is a possibility of heavy rains in Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the next four days.
Thunderstorm expected in East India
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is expected in eastern India with thunder, lightning and strong winds for the next five days. There is also a possibility of hailstorm in many parts of Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim. There may be heavy rains in Odisha on Sunday.
Heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on May 1 and May 2 and Assam and Meghalaya from May 1 to May 4. The warning of rain, strong winds and hailstorm across the country has increased the concern of the farmers. The Meteorological Department has advised farmers to take necessary precautions to save their crops from heavy rains.
