CDS On India’s Growth: Speaking at an event in New Delhi on Saturday (April 29), Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan described India as the third largest ecosystem for startups globally. He said, India will overtake Germany to become the fourth largest economy in the world by 2024.
He said, India is emerging as the third largest ecosystem for startups globally and today there are more than 84,000 government approved startups in the country.
On which side will the camel of balance of power sit?
Indicating the major changes going on in the global system, the CDS said, the powers at the global level are currently undergoing fragmentation and this is the reason why the new world order has not yet come into its systematic form. Chauhan said, since the Second World War, the trans-Atlantic Anglo-Saxon land is currently trying to balance its power after Ukraine-Russia.
He said that while Russia-China and Iran are coming closer to each other in the Middle East and South Asia. So in such a situation it would be difficult to say on which corner the balance of power will sit.
CDS told why the world is increasing the defense budget?
The CDS said, India has so far had close ties with both the power pillars, the Western powers as well as Russia, which are still contributing significantly to the current balance of power situation. He said, if we scan the regional conditions of Europe and Asia, it is known that instability and some major changes are taking place in the global order in many countries of the world. CDS said that this is the reason why most of the countries of the world are increasing their defense budget.
