Ranchi. The shortage of teachers of various subjects in high schools of Jharkhand is about to end. Nine thousand new teachers will be appointed in May. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will hand over appointment letters to these teachers together in a function to be organized at Khelgaon on May 19.
The recruitment process is being done through Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) and Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC). In fact, the process of appointment to these posts had started in 2016 itself, but due to reservation and other controversies, the appointment could not be done even after the examination was conducted. Recently, after a decision of the Supreme Court, the bottleneck of his appointment has been removed. Education Secretary K Ravi Kumar said that the department is trying to remove the shortage of teachers.
Apart from these, the process of appointment for other vacant posts of teachers is also being started in the coming days. There will be direct recruitment of 2137 PGT teachers in plus two schools of the state through JSSC. Apart from this, 265 backlog vacancies will be filled. 400 teachers will also be appointed in Kasturba schools, while preparations are on to appoint 2000 teachers in model schools as well.(IANS)
