Anand Mohan News: Uma Krishnaiah, wife of late IAS officer G Krishnaiah, has reached the Supreme Court against the release of Bihar’s Bahubali leader Anand Mohan. He has filed a petition demanding the cancellation of the order of the Bihar government. It has been said in the petition that when the death sentence is converted into life imprisonment, then the convict should be kept in jail for life. The Supreme Court has also given such a decision. But in this case the culprit was released.
Anand Mohan was sentenced to death
G Krishnaiah, the then DM of Gopalganj, was murdered in 1994 at Khobra in Muzaffarpur. In 2007, the lower court sentenced Anand Mohan to death in this case. Later the Patna High Court converted it into life imprisonment. Anand Mohan has now been released due to the recent changes made by the state government in the jail rules of Bihar.
5 types of crime considered heinous
In the jail manual made by the Bihar government in the year 2012, 5 types of crimes were considered heinous. These included terrorism, dacoity with murder, rape with murder, more than one murder and murder of a public servant. There was a provision not to give any exemption before 20 years to those who got life imprisonment for these 5 types of crimes. Recently, the Bihar government changed the jail rules and put the murder of a government employee in the category of general murder. This cleared the way for Anand Mohan to come out of jail.
Let us tell you that Anand Mohan is being discussed a lot these days in Bihar. There is a lot of political rhetoric going on regarding Anand Mohan. While the BJP is besieging the government on this issue, the ruling party is fighting.
