The Union Cabinet had approved a project in July 2022 at a total cost of Rs 26,316 crore for the penetration of 4G mobile services in villages across the country. In this project, there is a provision to include 20 percent additional villages due to rehabilitation, new settlement, service withdrawal etc. by the existing operators.
