The excitement of IPL 2023 is reaching its peak. Everyday many new records are being made in this league. In the same episode, a Chennai Super Kings batsman has registered a great record against Punjab Kings on Sunday. The special thing is that this CSK player has left behind the star Pakistani batsman Babar Azam. Although, Babar is not a part of IPL but this is the record of overall T20 cricket in which CSK’s Devon Conway has beaten the Pakistani batsman. He has scored his fifth half-century this season. He is slowly inching closer to Faf du Plessis in the Orange Cap race.
Devon Conway has scored five half-centuries in nine innings so far this season. Before this match, he had 322 runs in eight matches. After that, he also played a brilliant inning against Punjab Kings here. In this innings, Conway also completed his 5000 runs in T20 cricket and he has come joint third in the list of fastest 5000 T20 runs. He has equaled Shaun Marsh and left behind Pakistan’s Babar Azam. Babar did this in 145 innings. He registered this achievement in his name in this innings as soon as he scored 29 runs. Devon Conway’s career record
Apart from IPL, this star batsman of CSK has also done wonders in T20 International. Playing 38 T20 Internationals for New Zealand, Conway scored 1234 runs in 35 innings which included 9 half-centuries. He has completed his 5000 runs in 149th match in overall T20 cricket. Devon Conway made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings in 2022 last year. Since then he has been in excellent form. Prior to this match, he had scored 574 runs in 15 matches at an average of over 44 and a strike rate above 140. He scored his 8th half-century in this match.
