Elon Musk has announced major changes on the micro-blogging site Twitter on Saturday. He tweeted that now media publishers will be allowed to charge users for reading articles on social media platforms from next month.
After the roll out of this feature, Twitter users will have to take a monthly subscription to read the article. On the other hand, users who want to read articles occasionally will have to pay a charge per article. Elon Musk called it a big win for the media organization and the public.

How will the monetization program work for content creators?
Elon Musk tweeted on April 14 that ‘Apply your followers to offer subscriptions to any material from longform text to hour-long videos. Just tap on “Monetization” in Settings. Twitter will not take any share of the monetization earnings for the next 12 months. However, Android and IOS charge 30% fees. This charge will be deducted from the income of the creator. The charge on the web is closer to 8%.
After the first year, the ‘IOS and Android fees will be reduced by 15%. Apart from this Twitter will add a small fee on top of that based on the volume. Twitter will also help in promoting your work.

Twitter returned bluetick to many users without subscription
