A robust bariatric surgery program is being run at AIIMS Delhi. Under which about 1300 such surgeries have been done in the Department of Surgical Disciplines within 14 years. However, to get the best result of the surgery, the patient needs lifelong follow-up and regular care. For this the department also holds regular meetings. At present, the department has also launched an application.

This app not only informs patients about regular follow-up through notification system but also gives important information.
Apart from this, obesity was also discussed in the patients support meeting. Because of which there are about 13 types of cancer. The need for research on this topic was told. Along with this, in the booklet released on bariatric surgery, apart from what to do, what not to do after surgery, diet plan etc. was given for the patients.
