After Salim was declared brain dead, Arbo (Organ Retrieval Banking Organization) of AIIMS requested his parents for organ donation. After which parents gave permission to donate kidney, liver, heart, lung, pancreas, intestine, both corneas, heart valve and bones. Although Salim had only one kidney since birth. At the same time, his heart and lungs were also not found suitable for organ donation. While other things were perfect.

In the information given by Dr. Aarti Vij, head of Arbo AIIMS, it was told that in view of the need of the patients, one of Salim’s kidneys was transplanted to a 20-year-old patient of AIIMS itself. While his liver was given to a 16-year-old youth at the Indian Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) by the Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO). On the other hand, Salim’s other organs like cornea and heart valve etc. have been kept safe in the Organ Bank.
Organ donation of the fifth child in a year
In the information provided by the JPN Apex Trauma Center of AIIMS Delhi, it was told that last year 6-year-old Roli Prajapati had donated the organ. She was declared brain dead after being shot in Noida, UP. This is the fifth pediatric donation within a year, while a total of 19 organ donations have taken place.
