However, the wrestlers who have been demanding registration of FIR till now have said that the MP should be arrested immediately. If this does not happen, they will not end their strike. The wrestlers have also demanded the resignation of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh as an MP.
Wrestler Satyavrat Kadian says, “It is good that the FIR has been registered. What will we get from FIR? Will we get justice through FIR? Delhi Police should have registered an FIR on the very first day itself. Our on-paper battle has just begun. Let’s see what our legal team and coaches have to say. We are demanding that wrestling be separated from politics and the future of our women wrestlers be secured.”

Now that the demand of the wrestlers to file an FIR against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been accepted by the Delhi Police, wrestler Vinesh Phogat said that they do not have faith in the Delhi Police. Phogat said, “Our demand is that he (WFI president) should be put in jail. He should be removed from every post. Resign from the post of MP as well.
At the same time, Bajrang Punia, who was protesting, said, “He (Brij Bhushan Singh) should be put in jail immediately. We are waiting for the FIR of the police that under which sections the case is registered. Union minister Anurag Thakur did not pick up our phone.”
It is clear from wrestler Sakshi Malik that wrestlers will not cooperate with Delhi Police nor will they record their statement in this matter. Sakshi said, “We will record our statement in the Supreme Court. Our protest will end only after putting him (Brijbhushan Sharan Singh) in jail and removing him from all posts.”
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said on Friday (April 28, 2023), “I welcome whatever decision the court has taken today. I am very happy with this decision. Now there will be milk of milk and water of water in the court. I will get justice I believe in my karma.
Brijbhushan Sharan Singh had said about the players, “The demands of the wrestlers are constantly changing. They will keep raising questions. Will also raise questions on Delhi Police. Till date I have not been convicted by any court in any case. Everything is politically motivated.”
The wrestlers sought support from all the leaders and Khaps of their Jat community. Congress leader and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and some Haryana sportspersons, including his son Deepender Hooda, extended their support at the protest site at Jantar Mantar. During this, slogans were raised ‘Modi, your grave will be dug, if not today, it will be dug tomorrow’.
