The Fact India: 11 people died due to gas leak in Ludhiana, Punjab. 11 people have also fainted. Six men including two children, five women lost their lives in the accident that took place on Sunday. The age of both the dead children is 10 and 13 years. A gas leak incident took place from a building near Gyaspura Industrial Area in Ludhiana. The administration has sealed an area of one kilometer around the building. Ludhiana’s SDM Swati said that 11 people fainted after the gas leak.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the gas leak incident in Ludhiana’s Gyaspura area is very painful. Police, administration and NDRF teams are present on the spot. All possible help is being provided. Full information about this will be given soon. On the information of the incident, teams of Medical, Fire Brigade, Police and NDRF have reached the spot.
Here the MLA Rajinderpal Kaur said that a milk booth was built in the building. Whoever came here in the morning to get milk fell unconscious. Many people have been found in a state of unconsciousness within 300 meters of this building built in a residential area. People of nearby houses and dhabas have also fainted. The administration is conducting a search operation in the surrounding areas with the help of drones.
Till now it is not known that due to which gas leak such a big accident happened and what is the reason for it. However, in the initial investigation, the smell of gas has been found to be like sewerage gas. Now machines have been called to check the gas. According to administrative officials, the name of the building from which gas is said to have leaked is Goyal Cold Drinks on Sua Road in Gyaspura, Ludhiana. People lived in the upper part of this building. There is also a possibility of people fainting. The NDRF team is trying to reach the building wearing masks.
