The Mangeshkar family has demanded that the Coastal Road be named after Lata Mangeshkar. Today is the first death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar. Therefore, this demand has been made by the Mangeshkar family today.
On the occasion of Lata Mangeshkar’s first memorial day, Bhoomipujan of Latadidi’s memorial at Hajiali Chowk has been done by Ushatai Mangeshkar. Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha is present for this event. Along with this, actor Shivaji Satam and other artists were also present.
The memorial, named Swarancha Kalpavriksha, will be constructed by local MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha’s local development fund and on behalf of the Municipal Corporation. The construction of this forty feet high monument will be completed in three months.
“This is the first time such a big project is happening in Maharashtra and it is being built near our home. So we want it to be named after Didi. Mangalprabhat Lodha is active in this project. Mahanagara Palika is also with us. So we want it to be named after Lata Mangeshkar. And we expect that to happen,” said Usha Mangeshkar.
12 thousand 950 crore rupees are being spent for the 9.98 km long coastal road connecting South Mumbai. For this project, two tunnels of 12.19 m diameter and 2.070 km length are being constructed between Priyadarshini Park and Chowpatty.
