K Viswanath Funeral: Chiranjeevi, SS Rajamouli and others pay their last respects

Mumbai Veteran director K Vishwanath, who entertained the audience for years with his directorial debut in Telugu cinema, passed away on Thursday night. Awarded with the prestigious award of Indian cinema, K Vishwanath breathed his last at the age of 92.

The demise of the director has sent a wave of mourning across the country, with people associated with the industry as well as the filmmaker’s fans grieving his departure on social media. Meanwhile, now the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi has also tweeted condoling the demise of K. Vishwanath. The same Chiranjeevi, SS Rajamouli and many eminent actors reached the director’s residence for his last rites.

Director Kasinathuni Vishwanath has passed away at the age of 92 due to health related ailments. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad. Now his last rites have been performed.

Vishwanath worked in films not only as a director, but also as an actor and screen-writer. He left a different mark in Telugu cinema. His films were highly appreciated in the country as well as abroad. In the year 1980, veteran director K Vishwanath was awarded the ‘Janata Award’ at the ‘Besancon Film Festival of France’. He was then awarded the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award and the Padma Shri Award in Andhra Pradesh in 1992 for his contribution to the field of arts.

Vishwanath’s film career started in 1965 with the Telugu film ‘Aatma Gowravaham’. He received the Nandi Award for his debut film. His last film was ‘Oppanda’. He acted as an actor in this Kannada film.
