31 prisoners have been found HIV positive in Gautam Budh Nagar jail adjacent to the capital Delhi. After the report came, there has been a stir in the jail administration and the district health department. Presently all the patients are being treated in the district hospital.
According to the information, the health checkup of the prisoners was done by setting up a health camp in the jail of Gautam Budh Nagar. During this, 31 prisoners have been found HIV positive.
After finding such a large number of prisoners HIV positive, the jail administration hurriedly spoke to the health department and started treatment of all the prisoners at the Antiretroviral Therapy Center in Sector 30 District Hospital.
CMS Pawan Kumar of Noida District Hospital said that the screening was done in the jail on the orders of the state government. About 2650 prisoners were tested, in which 31 prisoners were found to be HIV positive.
At present everyone has been given ART medicines. Everyone is being treated. Every year the team of the district hospital does screening in the jail. Those patients who come positive, they are properly treated.
140 prisoners were also found HIV positive in Ghaziabad jail
Earlier, HIV was confirmed in 140 prisoners in Ghaziabad’s Dasna Jail. 17 patients of TB were also found here. The jail administration was stirred by the news of 140 prisoners being HIV positive.
AIDS Control Society is treating all these prisoners. After the report of the prisoners came, the jail administration had said that there is nothing to panic. Patients are being treated.
