Delhi: Fire still not under control in Chandni Chowk, major part of building damaged

The fire that broke out in the electronic market of Old Delhi’s Chandni Chowk area continued to burn throughout the night. Till now the fire has not been controlled. The fire brigade was informed about the fire at 9.19 pm, after which 18 fire tenders were initially sent. But, when the situation did not come under control, other tenders and teams were sent to the spot. Here 40 fire engines are trying to control the fire. This fire has started in the electronic market of Bhagirath Palace.

The information says that due to the narrowness of the road, there is a problem in controlling the fire. Delhi Fire Service Director Atul Garg said on Friday that a fire broke out in Old Delhi’s Chandni Chowk on Thursday night. Things are not very good right now. A large part of the building has been damaged.

Atul Garg further told that there was a fierce fire in the shops of Bhagirath Palace Market. He said – The process of extinguishing the fire is going on.

The building is slowly falling due to fire

The fire department is using remote control fire extinguishers to extinguish the fire. Former Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan also reached the spot late night. He had told that the main building that caught fire in Chandni Chowk is slowly collapsing. Two floors have been completely damaged. Fire engines and police are present at the spot. Efforts are being made to control the fire.

Cause of fire not known

Dr. Harshvardhan said that the call was received at 9:19 pm and the fire department was informed, after which more than 30 fire engines were deployed. The cause of the fire has not been known yet. The former Union Minister said- Efforts are being made to stop the fire from spreading, so that the surrounding buildings are not damaged.
