Apple supplier’s unit is closed in China

In such a situation, the Chinese authorities have closed the main factory of Foxconn Technology Group. iPhone Pro models are manufactured in this manufacturing hub.
People associated with the matter say that this situation has once again exposed Apple’s dependence on China, while the expansion of Apple manufacturing in India is as per the earlier plan. Apple has refused to make any comment in this whole matter. At the same time, Pegatron has also not given any answer.
iPhone 14 being assembled in India from September this year
Foxconn started manufacturing the iPhone 14 in India in September this year. Shortly after the global launch of the smartphone, its assembling started in India. Still most of the iPhones are manufactured in China only. Apple’s flagship production partner currently assembles the Pro models in Zhengzhou city of China.
According to the reports, about 7 thousand employees work in the Pegatron factory located in Chennai. Earlier this year, production of iPhone 12 has also started at Pegatron’s Chennai unit.
Pegatron usually gets the job of assembling entry level devices of Apple. Apple is gradually shifting its production units outside China due to China’s Zero Kovid policy, increasing US-China tension and many other reasons.
