Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) is going to be expanded in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had written a letter to the Center seeking an amount of Rs 10,000 crore. Now the Union Ministry of Rural Development has approved that proposal. This simply means that now additional 8 lakh poor families of the state will be able to get the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural). These houses will be ready by March 2024.
UP will get a big gift
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Rural Development by tweeting from his Twitter handle. He is happy that now the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) will be expanded on a large scale in UP. It is being told that 8,62,767 new houses will be built in Uttar Pradesh with this amount. By the way, 27 lakh houses have been built in UP so far under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural). In view of this, it is now being claimed that in the target of 2.95 crore Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas in the whole country, 35 lakh houses will be built in UP alone.
Eyeing electoral advantage?
It is being said that this step of the central government in the direction of rural development can rapidly change the situation on the ground in UP. Even in the Uttar Pradesh elections held this year, it came to the fore that some schemes of the Center made the people on the ground in favor of the BJP. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) was also mentioned in those plans. This scheme has worked to provide roof over the head to many poor families in the state. In the coming days, more families are also going to get the benefit of this scheme.
