UP News: The Pocso Court of Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh has given a historic verdict. In a case of rape of a six-year-old girl here, the court completed the hearing in just 10 days. Thereafter, the court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment. Also, the court said that the accused will remain in jail till death. The court of Additional District Judge (POCSO Act) Pankaj Kumar Srivastava has also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on the accused Bhupendra along with life imprisonment.
The incident happened with the girl on August 13
Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police Satpal, who is heading the investigation in this case, said that on August 13, a six-year-old girl was raped under Kotwali police station area. He said that we formed teams immediately. While raiding and taking action, Bhupendra was arrested. The forensic team was immediately called to the spot on the day of the incident. It was ensured that all the important evidence is preserved and the keys are sent to the laboratory for examination within the stipulated time frame. At the same time, the forensic examination confirmed the rape of the girl.
Chargesheet presented in court on September 3
After this, on September 3, the police filed a charge sheet against the accused in the court. On September 12, the court started hearing the case. The SP said that Bhupendra was presented in the court on September 17 along with all the eight witnesses on behalf of the police. After this, the court framed charges against Bhupendra on September 21 and the verdict was pronounced on Thursday.
Guilty of rape will remain in jail till death
Public Prosecutor Devesh Chandra Tripathi said that on September 17, when the accused appeared to record his statement, he claimed to be a minor and produced the educational certificate before the court. But on investigation these documents were found to be forged. The court pronounced the offense of the accused as serious in nature and sentenced him to severe punishment. The court has said in its order that the convict should be kept in life imprisonment. Also said that the guilty will remain in jail till death.
