Ujjain: The five-day Uma-Sanjhi festival has started from Wednesday night at Ujjain Mahakaleshwar temple in Madhya Pradesh. The festival started with the establishment of the Mahakal temple under the leadership of the government priest Ghanshyam Sharma.
After the establishment of the Ghat, Kilkot was made by the priests with seven colors. Here after the evening aarti, 21 Brahmins performed Vasant Puja. In the cultural program, Dholi Bua will present the five-day Nardiya Kirtan in the Sabhamandap.
In a series of cultural programmes, Bharat Natyam was presented by Shruti Rajeev Sharma of Varda Kala Sansthan followed by melodious Mangal sound of Mangal Vadya by world-renowned artist Dr. Vivek Bansod and Ramchandra Gangolia.
In the Sabha Mandap, a large number of devotees were present in the meeting hall by the priest-priest family on the ancient Sanja-Shila and a beautiful tableau was constructed.
