New Delhi: The country’s President Draupadi Murmu on Monday approved the appointment of directors in eight Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Two of these directors have been re-appointed for the second term. This information has been given by the Ministry of Education.
According to information given by the education ministry, IIT Bhilai director Rajat Moona has been appointed as the director of IIT Gandhinagar, while IIT Dharwad director P. Seshu has been appointed as the director of IIT Goa.

The two IIT directors, who have been reappointed for a second term, are KN Satyanarayana (IIT Tirupati) and Manoj Singh Gaur (IIT Jammu). IIT Madras professors Seshadri Shekhar and Shripad Karmalkar have been appointed as directors of IIT Palakkad and IIT Bhubaneswar.
Apart from this, President Draupadi Murmu has appointed VR Desai of Civil Engineering Department of IIT Kharagpur as the Director of IIT Dharwad. Apart from this, Rajiv Prakash from ‘School of Material Science and Technology’ of IIT BHU has been appointed as the Director of IIT Bhilai.
