Janmashtami 2022: Today, the holy festival of Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated with great pomp across the country. Since morning, there is a rush of devotees of Lord Krishna in temples across the country. However, in many places, the holy festival of Janmashtami was celebrated yesterday i.e. on Thursday only.
In fact, like Raksha Bandhan, there was a lot of confusion among people about the date of Janmashtami this year. Some believe that Janmashtami was on Thursday, while some believe that this year the festival of Janmashtami is today i.e. on August 19, 2022. Janmashtami is being celebrated today in Mathura, Vrindavan, Dwarkadhish Temple and Banke Bihari Temple.
Lord Shri Krishna was born in the month of Bhadon in the midnight of Ashtami Tithi and in Rohini Nakshatra. For this reason, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna is celebrated every year at night. Ashtami Tithi is starting from 09.21 pm on 18th August and will end at 10.59 pm on 19th August.
Today is the rising date of Ashtami Tithi of Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha. According to the Panchang, 8 types of auspicious yoga are being formed on Janmashtami this year. These 8 auspicious yogas are Mahalakshmi, Budhaditya, Dhruva, Chhatra, Kuldeepak, Bharati, Harsh and Satkirti yogas, which are considered to be very auspicious from the point of view of worship.
According to the Hindu calendar, 5248 years have been completed since the birth of Lord Krishna. This year is the 5249th birth anniversary of Lord Shri Krishna. According to religious texts, Lord Krishna was born in Dwapar Yuga in Mathura at 12:00 midnight on Krishna Paksha Ashtami Tithi of Bhadrapada month.
