Vinod Jagdale, Mumbai: A surprising picture has emerged from Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. Due to lack of bridge in Karanji village of Gondpimpri taluka here, people have to face a lot of trouble during the funeral procession. Due to the absence of a bridge in the village, people had to pass through knee-deep water to carry the body to the cremation ground for the last rites.
Although such a picture from Maharashtra has come to the fore in the past, but this picture is worrying because from Karanjigaon, former minister in Maharashtra government and presently Congress MLA Vijay Vadettivar comes and this is also his birthplace. From this picture, it can be estimated that how far the rural areas of the country are still behind.
In Karanji village of the former minister, there is a big drain on the way to the cremation ground. Here there is a small unpaved road in the name of the road. But because of the flood, the water has been filled. Meanwhile, Ravi Atram, who lived in the village, died. When his last journey left from home to the cremation ground, people had to carry the body with a knee full of flood water. The cremation ground was built in this village with a population of 5000. But the construction work of the bridge over the drain is still pending. Many times the village panchayat of Karanji, being the minister of Vijay Wadettiwar, demanded to build a bridge, but till now the bridge has not been built in the village.

The shocking picture from the village has come to the fore just two days after the Independence Day Gaurav Yatra organized by the Congress. Three Congress MLAs were present in this program. If we talk about Vijay Vadettiwar, Karanjigaon is his birthplace, he has more attachment than here. That is why he started the pride journey of independence from this village. But after such a picture has come to the fore, all the claims of rural development are being exposed.
