Chandigarh: Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Aman Arora during his visit to Bathinda on Saturday said that Chief Minister S. The Punjab government, led by Bhagwant Mann, will develop the 1464 acres of land of the closed Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Power Plant in a planned manner.
While inspecting the 793 acres of land in the ash dyke area of this closed thermal plant, the cabinet minister directed the officials of Bathinda Development Authority (BDA) to ensure proper use of the land by I.I. Survey of the said land should be done from T. Kanpur. He said that the Hon’ble Government would leave no stone unturned to make this area which has become a canker for Bathinda.
After holding marathon meetings with resident welfare associations and developers, the cabinet minister also visited Urban Estates-6 and 7 and conducted B. D. A. He directed the officers of the State Government to develop these places within the stipulated time frame so that the planned development could be ensured.
He said that the present Punjab government’s approach towards urban development is very clear and transparent unlike the previous governments, whereas the previous governments have looted the people by making disturbances in the name of development. He clearly said that the faulty development plans of the previous governments have given birth to illegitimate colonies, but now the people of Punjab will see the real planned development for themselves.
