New Delhi: Indian wrestlers showed their mettle on the eighth day of the Commonwealth Games. However, Anshu Malik had to face defeat in the 57kg final. She claimed the silver medal after losing to Folasade Adekuroye of Nigeria, but Bajrang Punia, on the other hand, grabbed the gold with a brilliant performance.
Bajrang Punia led 4-0 after the first period in the men’s freestyle 65kg gold medal match against Canada’s Lachlan McNeill. He dominated the opponent from the start and did not give him any chance to score points. Earlier, Bajrang had won the round of 16 in just under a minute. He hit the opposition wrestler within minutes.
