Raipur: The issue of ready to eat food supply arose in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on Monday. BJP MLA Saurabh Singh raised the matter. Saurabh Singh said that ready to eat food has not been supplied in the Anganwadi centers in the month of April. On this, the Minister of Women and Child Development Anila Bhediya said that the supply could not be done due to the petition of the Women Self Help Group in the High Court. The BJP demanded a probe by the House Committee.
Leader of Opposition in the House Dharamlal Kaushik said that the mafia has now entered the supply of ready-to-eat food. There was a lot of noise in the house on this matter. On the other hand, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ravindra Choubey said that if investigation is required, then further decision will be taken.
BJP MLA Saurabh Singh asked that the High Court had also ordered that the supply of groups whose contracts have not been terminated, will continue. Anila Bhediya said that the seed corporation has continued to supply from such groups. Ready to eat food is being supplied from these groups.
Saurabh Singh said that the High Court has ordered to give the responsibility of transportation of ready-to-eat food to women self-help groups. Transportation is to be done at the rate of Rs 13, but the seed corporation is fixing the rate of Rs 3. It’s a matter of hurting the groups. In one of its replies, the government has said that a contract is being signed with another company for transportation. Chhattisgarh Agro Food Private Limited is contracting this. How can two things happen at the same time?
BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar asked that what alternative arrangements have been made for the supply of ready-to-brick food? In the House, on the answer given on a question related to this, the minister has said that his answer was wrong. Women and Child Development Minister Anila Bhediya said that the supply for the month of May-June has been done. Only April month has not been supplied.
Ajay Chandrakar said that if there is no supply of children’s food in April, it is a serious matter. The matter should be probed by a parliamentary committee. Seed Development Corporation should not make business of earning money.
Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik said that as long as the women self-help group was responsible for the supply of ready-to-eat food, there was no disturbance in the supply, but since the contract was given to a millionaire. A joint company was formed with the Seed Corporation. Supply stopped. This matter should be investigated.
Speaker Dr Charandas Mahant instructed the Parliamentary Affairs Minister to answer. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ravindra Choubey said that due to the petition in the court in the month of April, there was no supply. Hot food was distributed in April. BJP MLA Shivratan Sharma said that Minister Anila Bhediya has given a wrong answer in the House.
Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant said – If there is a wrong answer, then inform us, we will get the inquiry done. Saurabh Singh asked that the expiry date is not written in the packet. The minister said that the production date is written.
