where is the matter
Rahul Kabra is a LinkedIn user. He shared pictures of Zomato order bills and offline bills of the same order on the same platform. There was a difference in the total order amount in both the photos. The order was placed at a restaurant ‘The Momo Factory’ in Mumbai. Items that remained in the order included Veg Black Pepper Sauce, Vegetable Fried Rice and Mushroom Momos.

How much did the difference in the bill come?
Rahul Kabra wrote in the caption that he is doing an apple to apple comparison of online vs offline orders. They found that the same offline order costs Rs 512, while the Zomato order costs Rs 690 and that too after the applicable discount of Rs 75. That is, this difference is Rs 178. The cost increase per order is 34.76%.

looting customers
Rahul Kabra in his post said that considering that Zomato brings visibility and more orders for the food service provider, should it charge such a high price? However, people were seen commenting in the favor of both Rahul and Zomato. As one user said, with US based food delivery apps like DoorDash, there is a perception that they maintain the same price for food items as restaurants. However, they charge a separate delivery fee/delivery and other tax charges. This way there is transparency and the customer knows exactly what he is paying more for.

another funny comment
Another user said OK! So now that you’ve got the proof, you have two options. Either you go out and buy from momo factory with your own cost. The second option is to order it to be delivered. It will come at your doorstep, which saves you time.

zomato business
Like Swiggy etc., Zomato also has the same business that they charge customers money for delivering food. Now if the customers find it in the budget, then it is their decision. Let us tell you that Zomato was started in 2008.
