KYC can be done by visiting the branch
Responding to a tweet by a customer, SBI said, “As per RBI order, customers should get their KYC updated from time to time. Hence, the customers whose KYC is not updated yet are being informed through multiple channels, the customers are also informed through SMS. Based on this notification one can visit any of our branch to update his/her KYC details or send a copy of his/her KYC documents through his/her registered email id (if there is no change in KYC details) to his/her branch’s email Id can be sent. Hope this message is clear, SBI wrote in reply. To another customer, the bank replied in a tweet: “We would like to inform you that KYC is a continuous process to be done at regular intervals.
How to Update KYC Details
If you want to get KYC done online then you will have to update your KYC information by emailing or mailing a copy of Identity Card and Address Proof to the mail of your bank branch. According to SBI’s website, these are the documents that are accepted as proof of identity/address for updating KYC:
- voter id card
- driving license
- Aadhar card/card
- NREGA Card
- pan card
- Any one document for proof of identity and proof of address (permanent or current).
For NRI accounts
- Attested copies of passport and residence visa
- foreign Office
- Notary Public
- Indian Embassy
