Government has started action against coal mafia in Chhattisgarh. Government departments have raided many coal depots to washeries. The state government received complaints including irregularities in stock of coal in several coal washeries and coal depots. Under the action, joint teams of officials of Mineral, Revenue, Police and GST Department raided the coal washeries and coal depots located in Bilaspur, Korba, Raigad and Janjgir-Champa districts and inward and outward including coal stocks, violation of environmental rules. Necessary action has been taken after examining the deficiencies in land related documents, difference in calibration of wave bridges and other deficiencies.
10 state level teams have been constituted by the Mineral Department to investigate the coal washeries and coal depots across the state, these teams include 50 officers of the Mineral Department, along with the officers of the Revenue, Police and GST Department of the respective areas. Together they are engaged in the investigation of coal washeries and coal depots.
According to the information, the joint team raided Hind Energy, Hind Multi, Clean Coal Washeries located at Gataura and Hindih in Bilaspur district and Satya Power Coal Washery, Feel Washery at Gatauri, and investigation action was taken.
Similarly, a joint team of officers is engaged in the investigation of coal stock by raiding M/s Clean Coal Enterprises, M/s Hind Energy and Coal Beneficiation located at Baloda in Janjgir-Champa district. The process of investigation is also going on in the coal washeries and coal depots of Raigad district.
Similarly, in Korba district, a joint team of officers has established Coal Washery, Deepka, Gevra, Chakaburra, Raiki, Ratija, Maruti, Indus Udyog & Private Limited, Kothi and Power Plant in Chakabura, Ratija Power, Maruti 300 MW, Reiki Power 63 MW. Extensive investigation has been done on the excessive quantity of coal stock, violation of environmental rules, deficiencies in land documents, difference in calibration of wave bridges and other deficiencies.
