The Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a show-cause notice to the airline SpiceJet in the wake of incidents since April 1, terming it as its failure to provide safe airlines. SpiceJet is to respond to the notice within three weeks.
Tweeting the show cause notice, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the safety of passengers is of paramount importance. Even the smallest mistake in the security system will be investigated and rectified.
The DGCA, in its notice, has cited several instances when a SpiceJet aircraft turned back instead of taking off due to poor safety standards or landed unsafely at the destination.
