Mumbai: Maharashtra’s new Chief Minister Eknath Shinde arrived in Goa from Mumbai late in the night and met the rebel MLAs at Hotel Taj. Eknath Shinde celebrates becoming Chief Minister with rebel MLAs. Sources said that the MLAs of Shinde faction will return to Mumbai from Goa today.
Shinde becomes CM
After political upheaval in Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde has taken oath as the Chief Minister. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari administered him the oath of office and secrecy. Shinde took oath in Marathi.
It is worth mentioning that Devendra Fadnavis had announced that Eknath Shinde would become the Chief Minister. Devendra Fadnavis, who was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for five years, took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister. Addressing the media, JP Nadda said that the party wants Fadnavis to become the Deputy Chief Minister.

IT notice to Sharad Pawar
With the departure of the Uddhav government in Maharashtra, NCP chief Sharad Pawar has received an IT notice. Pawar has received this notice regarding his election affidavit. Taking a jibe at the notice, Pawar said a love letter has been received from Income Tax relating to election affidavits. In fact, Pawar has received notices from the Income Tax Department for affidavits filed during the 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2020 elections.
