Why did the coach get emotional?
Chandrakant Pandit said that ’23 years ago I missed as a captain. I had other offers, but I chose Madhya Pradesh. He said that the son fulfills the unfulfilled dreams of the father and for him Mumbai captain Aditya Srivastava winning the Ranji Trophy is like this. He admitted that winning the trophy for the sixth time as a coach was the most important moment of his career.
Chandrakant Pandit has also captained
Let us tell you that 23 years ago in 1999, the team of Madhya Pradesh reached the final of Ranji, then Chandrakant Pandit was captaining the team, in that final the team was defeated by Karnataka. But after 23 years, Madhya Pradesh easily defeated the 41-time champion Mumbai. With this, Pandit Chandrakant’s dream of winning the trophy for Madhya Pradesh was fulfilled.
