Karan Mishra, Gwalior: In the 263 panchayats of Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh, polling has started from 7:00 am for Panch and Sarpanch, 100 Janpad members of 4 districts and 13 Zilla Panchayat members. As soon as the door of the polling stations opened, in this great festival of democracy, voters were seen running to reach their respective polling booths.
Along with the youth, the participation of the elderly and women has also been seen in the voters. A total of 846 polling stations have been set up in the district, out of which 242 polling stations are sensitive. In such a situation, 105 police mobile units have been activated. A total of 4 lakh 70 thousand 995 voters will vote in the district. Of these, 2 lakh 53 thousand 34 are male voters, while 2 lakh 17 thousand 938 are female voters. In the district, 4 thousand 653 officers and employees will conduct the polling.
Significantly, 1322 candidates are contesting for Sarpanch, 151 candidates are contesting in 13 wards of Zilla Panchayat. The fate of 458 candidates in 100 wards of 4 Janpad Panchayat will also be decided. There is also resentment among the villagers who came to vote due to the lack of development of their area. This is the reason why he says that he has come to vote so that there should be development in his area, victory of a good candidate.
