New Delhi: Team India has got good news before the Test against England starting from July 1. Star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has reached England and has joined the India squad. Although he has not been included in the warm-up match to be played against Leicestershire, it is believed to be played in the Test to be played from 1 July. Ashwin had missed going to England with Team India due to Kovid, although now his report has come negative.

Veteran India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was expected to be included in the Test squad ahead of the first warm-up match starting June 24. Separate arrangements were made for him to go to England. Jayant Yadav was kept as standby when Ashwin did not recover on time. The Haryana spinner was called to the NCA in Bangalore. However, now that option has been ruled out as Ashwin has made a full recovery.
practice match begins
The four-day practice match between Team India and Leicestershire started on Thursday. In this match, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Famous Krishna and Cheteshwar Pujara are seen playing against Team India from Leicestershire. The Indian Test team will take on England in the fifth Test remaining from last year’s tour, which was postponed after several COVID cases were reported. The match is to be played on 1 July at Edgbaston. India are currently leading 2-1 in the five-match series against England.
