New Delhi: Indian player Ravindra Jadeja is the world number 1 player in the all-rounders’ Test rankings, but now his chair seems to be in danger. Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has moved closer to reclaiming his crown as the best all-rounder in Test cricket by moving up to the second spot in the latest list of ICC Test Player Rankings. Shakib has climbed two places to the second position in the latest all-rounder rankings released by the ICC on Wednesday. Now India’s left-handed batsman Ravindra Jadeja is the only player in front of him.
Great performance against West Indies
Shakib performed brilliantly during the first Test of the two-match series for Bangladesh in the ongoing Test series against West Indies in the Caribbean. The Bangladesh captain top-scored with 51 runs in the first innings and an impressive 63 in the second innings, forcing West Indies to bat for the second time. If Shakib reclaims the top ranking for all-rounders it will be a big change for one of Bangladesh’s all-time greats.

39 rating points away from Jadeja
Shakib first claimed the top ranking for Test all-rounders in December 2011 and has since maintained his position near the top of the order despite a few injuries in his career. He currently has a rating of 346 points. Ravindra Jadeja has 385 rating points. Shakib has jumped 14 places to 32nd in the Test batting rankings. No. 1 Joe Root occupies the top spot.
Kemar Roach entered the top 10
West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach also stepped into the bowlers’ list. The veteran right-arm bowler has jumped four places to the eighth position after a stellar performance against Bangladesh. Roach took seven wickets in the first Test and was named player of the match for his efforts.
