Singrauli: Amazing story of Ajab MP. The latest case is of Devsar tehsil of Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh where three wives of a panchayat secretary are in the fray. All the three wives have filed their nominations and after filing their nominations, not only the people of the village but the people of the entire district are very surprised. However, all the three wives have contested elections from different panchayats.
Let us tell you that Sukhram Singh of Singrauli district has three wives. His first wife Urmila Singh is in the electoral fray to contest the election of district member from Pedra in Devsar district. The name of second wife is Kusum Kali who has filed nomination for the post of Sarpanch. The name of the third is Geeta Singh, who has filed nomination for the post of sarpanch from different panchayats by reaching the collectorate office. However, after the filing of nominations of all the three wives, the discussion of Sukhram’s wives is in full swing in the district.
However, regarding this entire matter, the CEO of Devsar district, VK Singh, has also issued a notice under the Hindu Marriage Act 1955 to show cause before disciplinary action due to 2 or more wives. Let us tell you that there is a provision in the Hindu Marriage Act 1955 that second marriage is prohibited while having a living wife and there is also a provision of 7 years imprisonment under section 494 for doing so.
In the notice, Devsar District CEO has issued a notice to submit the report by recording his statement along with the affidavit and giving information about the number of wives respectively.
