Convener of Sangharsh Samiti, Murarilal Saini said that since 6 years there is a demand for reservation for the Mali society of admission. He said that till now a memorandum was given to 33 district collectors of the state, a memorandum was given to the SDM, street meetings were held in more than 4500 villages but no one listened to their demand. In the end, they have to take the decision of mahapanchayat and jamming the highway.
On Sunday, thousands of people of the society held a mahapanchayat near Arora village on the Jaipur-Agra highway. Along with this, it was also said to send a representative to hold talks with the Rajasthan government. When no representative from the Rajasthan government reached for talks, at 5 pm, the people of the society got down on the highway and blocked it. Thousands of people remained stuck on the highway till late night. In view of the reservation movement, the local police and administration diverted the vehicles coming from Jaipur and Agra side from different routes.
Since Monday morning, the crowd of people of the society has started gathering again on the highway. At the same time, the police administration has also increased the police presence on the spot.
