Chandigarh: Incidents of rape are increasing continuously in Haryana, which has put a dent in the police administration as well. In these incidents, all the fast track courts have been set up across the state to give quick justice to the victim, which solves these cases immediately. In Fatehabad, Additional District and Sessions Judge and Fast Track Court Judge Balwant Singh has sentenced Amritpal to 20 years of imprisonment for kidnapping and raping a Class X student. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of seven thousand rupees on the accused.
Actually this incident is of 12 August 2021 when a minor girl resident of a village in Fatehabad was going to school on foot when the accused came and asked her to leave the school. Following the words of the accused, she sat on the bike and left for school. After sitting on the bike, the accused took her to Punjab and there by taking her to the fields and unaware of the incident of rape.
When the accused was coming back to drop her home after raping her, the girl’s uncle caught her, after which the accused left by making some excuse. As soon as the accused fled, the victim informed the family about the entire incident, after which the family members gave a complaint to the police station. After receiving the complaint in the police station, the police immediately registered a case and arrested the accused after finding him from his village.
In this case, the police had registered a case against Amritpal under sections 363, 366, 376, 364 of IPC. The hearing of this case was going on in the Additional District and Sessions Judge and Fast Track Court. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the court convicted the accused Amritpal. The court sentenced the accused Amritpal to 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 7,000.
